Rural Electrification and Renewable Energy Corporation (REREC), formerly Rural Electrification Authority (REA), is taking over the management of renewable energy centres in the country.
According to REREC CEO Peter Mbugua, the company has already offered better employment terms to 116 staff members from these centres. Staff members at the energy centres who have been working in the Ministry of Energy technical directorates will have their job groups elevated. The takeover process has taken about three years to be completed following the enactment of the Energy Act 2019 that saw REA metamorphose into REREC.
