One-third SMEs face closure in less than three months in Kenya

87.9% operating on less than 75 per cent business capacity. In May, Central Bank of Kenya governor Patrick Njoroge has indicated that at least 75 per cent of SMEs were facing closure by end of June due to a lack of funds. A Credit Guarantee Scheme with an initial seed capital of Sh10 billion has been set up to cushion SMEs.
