Manufacturer´s association urges SMEs to adopt green energy

The Kenya Association of Manufacturers is urging Small and Medium Enterprises to adopt green energy solutions to ease their cost of power and improve efficiency in production.

Last year after calls to subsidise power for the small and medium size enterprises the Energy Regulatory Commission lowered charges for small business consuming at least 100 kilowatt hour to Kshs 15.17 shilling per unit from Kshs 22.19 per unit consumed.

The Kenya Association of Manufacturers is now looking to push for incentives to lower cost of production associated with power targeting Micro Small and Medium Enterprises who adopt energy saving methods in their manufacturing processes.
