Kenyan arid areas to build 380 solar water pumps

The project, which aims to ease the pain of clean water access in dry areas, will be implemented by Rural Electrification Authority (REA) over the next four years to 2022.

“It will involve implementation of solar-powered pumping systems to increase sustainable supply by equipping new boreholes and retrofitting existing diesel-powered boreholes associated with community facilities within the target counties,” REA says.
